How did you choose your school name?

We tested several different names and ideas for logos, after many tries, we decided to use Bruno Guimaraes with a very customized shield of arms of the last name of Professor Bruno.

How long have you been teaching?

Since 1997.

What is your student creed or mission statement?

Our Mission: In 10 years of existence all the units follow the same didactic model where it generated champions in all amateur and professional levels. Through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the didactic, students will develop physical, psychological, emotional and disciplinary parts. Physically contributing to the improvement of psychomotricity, weight loss, cardiovascular improvement, improvement in muscle tone; Psychologically and emotionally we will elevate confidence, self-esteem, encouraging perseverance, offering greater challenges and eliminating the inner fears of each; Disciplinary as any and every martial art will teach respect, hierarchy, obedience to this we will collaborate with families in complementary education of the students.

Who or what inspires you?

My inspiration is my first professor Grand Master Francisco Mansor and my current Professor Master Alvaro Mansor.

What is something special or unique about your school and/or students?

I learned BJJ from the source, I had some classes with Grand Master Helio Gracie, Grand Master Francisco Mansor is the oldest black belt from Grand Master Helio Gracie who still alive and I learned from him, this is unique and priceless.

What made you choose FUJI Mats for your facility?

We wanted to create a high-level facility to push the training to a high limit. Including floor, decoration, and environment.

\What is the most rewarding part about working in the martial arts field?

The most rewarding thing about work with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the trust and the confidence that martial arts creates between students and instructors.

If you could give one piece of advice to other martial art school owners what would it be?

Treat your clients as special and very important people, don't look at them as numbers, statistics or dollar signs.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL:

Professor Bruno Guimaraes was born in Brazil, dad of a seventeen-year-old son (in memory) and started his professional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training at the early age of only 7 years old.

He is currently a 3rd degree Black Belt, dedicated to his training and the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 1983 when he received his first graduation directly from the hands of Grand Master Francisco Mansor.

Professor Bruno continued his special training for many years under the Grand Master and tirelessly achieved new graduations and awards every year, since 1994 when Professor Bruno started to teach classes as an assistant instructor in Brazil - Rio de Janeiro until he got his promotion for Black Belt in 2010. Professor Bruno had successful students in Brazil during his time in Brazil as Black Belt and looking forward to bigger goals he moved to Texas in 2015 with the objective of expanding the Soul Fighters Association in Texas.
