How did you choose your school name?
I wanted the school name to reflect the mindset that one can find a solution to all problems so long as they retain determination and purpose.
What is your school's mission statement or student creed?
At Resolve, we believe that training Jiu-jitsu builds the body and mind together and that through their development, students will build the proper attitude to succeed in life, on and off the mats.
How long have you been teaching?
BJJ for 6 years. Iaido for 8 years. Karate for over 20 years.
Who or what inspires you?
My inspiration comes not from specific individuals in history, nor from naturally athletic individuals, but from those who struggle every day to become better and do not quit due to adversity.
What is something special or unique about your school and/or students?
We focus heavily on utilizing Jiu-jitsu concepts to enrich our lives as a whole.
What made you choose FUJI Mats for your facility?
My BJJ Professor uses them and I was happy with the quality.
What is the most rewarding part about working in the martial arts field?
Watching the positive impact of learning a martial art imparts on a person's confidence and self-image.
If you could give one piece of advice to other martial art school owners what would it be?
Be honest and train as hard as you expect your students to train.
