How did you choose your school name?
I was looking for names that tied in my heritage (Greek, Sicilian) and I discovered Marcus Attilius, who was an ancient Gladiator. I liked his back story as it could be applied to people nowadays...Applying these principles, Marcus Attilius went on to become one of the top gladiators of his time...
These same gladiator-like principles are the applied philosophy at the House of Attilius, a person can push themselves to achieve and overcome life's obstacles resulting in great success.
The House symbolizes a return to the basic foundations of health and wellness. Thus, helping to maintain and improve your basic functions required to deal with pain, breathing, movement, and mobility.
How long have you been teaching?
What is your student creed or mission statement?
"True Victory is Victory Over Oneself, To build a community that supports and respects one another through training and life. To cultivate an atmosphere and mindset that will positively impact and inspire people. Supporting people to lead stronger and healthier lives."
My focus is to have the House continue to thrive in this manner long after this life is done for me.
Who or what inspires you?
I love being a coach. Being able to help people reach their potential and then burst through that ceiling keeps me inspired.
What is something special or unique about your school and/or students?
We put an emphasis on blending Mindfulness Meditation in with Muay Thai and Strength & Conditioning for a well rounded and beneficial experience.
What made you choose FUJI Mats for your facility?
Out of all the places I looked at, they were the most helpful.
What is the most rewarding part about working in the martial arts field?
Seeing new students better themselves every time they step through the doors.
If you could give one piece of advice to other martial art school owners what would it be?
Invest in people. Break it down and show them the benefits of how your training will benefit them not only from the discipline itself but also how it will benefit them moving forward in their daily lives.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL:
We have a blend that focuses on Muay Thai, Strength & Conditioning, Meditation, Nutrition, and Qigong. In today’s world, we have forgotten the very purpose of the art of human movement which DRIVES our powerful machine.
At the House, you will have the means to be well- if not in every circumstance, at least in all of the basic situations you encounter in daily life.
